Representatives from major Spanish and German companies met yesterday in Madrid. Authorities in both countries held high hopes of boosting the confidence of German investors.
After Merkel and Rajoy wrapped up, they had talked at length about the reforms being carried out (Luis de Guindos showed them the reforms that Germany carried out ten years ago and Joan Rosell explained CEOE backing) and topics that have recurred during like meetings. Still, no concrete decisions came from the meeting, something that was quite predictable judging by the number of people attenting.
The Spanish economy has talked enough about its plans. Now it needs to act.
