The changes the government has made to requirements needed to receive the 400-euro unemployment benefit granted to jobless workers when their primary benefits expire seem sensible. In some respects the requirements are stricter. In other respects, non-working aspects are receiving makeovers.
For example, the aid payments will be funneled to long-term unemployed workers only and serve to reintegrate them into the labor market. This means that after analyzing the results of the program since its implementation it was deemed necessary that job training, based on the recipients? profiles, might focus on learning new skills rather than adding to an old resume. The changes seem good enough for a benefit whose ultimate aim is to make itself obsolete.
