Crossfire between electric and renewable energy companies

The government went on vacation without resolving one of the more pressing problems that it is dealing with right now: the power tariff deficit.

The tariff deficit is a big bill to pay, which has set power and renewable energy companies on the warpath since they caught word of the first draft of the government?s power sector reform.

The government has been opaque about its reform plans, inciting crossfire of accusations in an attempt to cause public unrest. The renewable energy companies are right when they assure that increasing the premium tariff rate is owed to starting up new power plants and not to an increase of power plant subsidies. It's critical that the government comes up with the fairest solution possible in order to put this doubt-causing issue behind.
