Martínez Rico needs to clarify his role

Abengoa is the largest thermosolar company in Spain, so the reforms that the government is thinking about enacting on the thermosolar sector mean that the company has a lot at stake.

Ricardo Martínez Rico has acted as an independent adviser for the Abengoa, which is based in Seville, since early October. But he's also a consultant through the firm Equipo Económico. Rico is CEO of this firm.

It's hard to justify Martínez Rico's dual role. Plus, he is friends with Minister of Finance Cristóbal Montoro. They were partners at Montoro and Associates.

As the debate about the future of thermosolar energy in Spain wages on, Martínez Rico needs to explain publicly what consulting services he is performing and how much he has earned for the work.
