In the past 23 years the industry the Spanish coal industry has taken in 24 billion euros that, far from creating an industry that creates jobs and wealth, has built a downhill business.
The Government has to continue subsidizing the industry until 2018, despite pressure from Europe to stop, which means Spain has six years to fix the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party's failures and to look for alternative re-industrialization plans that put an end to a business that is run on subsidies and lacks a future.
For internal coherence, the People?s Part should not oppose Andalusia's PER and hold on to a subsidized mining industry.
