The focus of the data calendar this coming week (April 9 ? 13) is CPI and PPI readings for March.
Headline inflation likely softened last month as energy prices leveled off after surging in February. Core inflation is expected to have continued on a steady 0.2% pace for both the CPI and PPI, with little evidence of pass through from energy prices.
In other data news, the trade gap is seen to have narrowed in February on a sharp pullback in consumer goods and auto imports.
Consumer sentiment is expected to post a small gain in early April despite persistently higher gas prices.
