Op-ed: When justice swift for some, but not all

The people who make elEconomista run every day have always stood behind the Ministry of Justice. We are firm believers that swift and efficient justice is one of the best services that the State can offer to citizens, companies and the markets.

And we and our editors defend equal rights for all citizens before the courts.

So the president and director of elEconomista feel obligated to ask Spain's judiciary for an explanation: Why are the courts taking long periods of time to reach so many verdicts when Carlos Carnicer's judicial decree was carried out the same day that he told us that he had handed it in?

Does the Justice department provide swift justice for all? Or just for some?
