Job growth in Germany and USA

The week began with new employment records in Germany. There are 41 million registered workers in the country, which is the highest number of employed workers since the nation's reunification. On Friday, the United States surprised the world by creating 200,000 jobs, surpassing even the most optimistic forecasts and lowering the national unemployment rate to the lowest level in two years.

In the midst of global economic anxiety, both countries are reasserting themselves as major powers.

For its part, Spain keeps setting off alarms in Europe for its extraordinarily high unemployment rate of 23%. So the new Spanish government is facing the challenge to execute a labor reform that resolves this deeply-rooted problem in our economy so that we are not left far behind on the road to recovery.
