Later in the afternoon, the President will have lunch at a local restaurant with winners of a campaign contest.

Employment Report (Dec.) We expect payroll employment growth to improve to 150,000 in December from 120,000 in November.
A reduction in initial unemployment insurance claims, which ran below 400,000 for the entire month of December, suggests further improvement in the labor market.
But since November?s drop in the unemployment rate from 9.0% to 8.6% was very sharp, a correction here would come as no surprise, and we expect the rate to edge up to 8.7% in December.
