The newly-sworn in President of Spain, Mariano Rajoy, will head the Economic Office in an attempt to work directly with management teams and legislature during the crisis. Rajoy will mold the office into a "very strong, independent organization, one with a direct influence on the Advisory Commission of Economic Affairs," according to sources close to the government.
Rajoy will carry the baton about all decisions related to economic affairs that are adopted in both the Ministry of the Economy and Competition (directed by Luis de Guindos) and the Ministry of Public Works (directed by Cristóbal Montoro).
For another top advisor, it appears that Rajoy will revert to one of his faithful collaborators. Partido Popular (PP) Secretary of State, Álvaro Nadal, is the person whose name is being mentioned most for this role.
