@ Wall Street

Construction Spending (Oct.)

For October, we are projecting little change in single-family residential and in private nonresidential construction spending, and a drop in public construction that will more than offset an increase in multi-family construction.

ISM Manufacturing Index (Nov.)

We expect most of the gain to come from the inventory component, which is volatile and which was responsible for the drop in the overall index in October. Orders and shipments should remain above breakeven, but should not improve as much as inventories. The manufacturing sector is looking a bit brighter, but is hardly glowing.

Motor Vehicle Sales (Nov.)

An early start to end-of-year promotional activity, and rising inventory levels should help November post the best monthly SAAR (seasonally-adjusted annualized selling rate) of the year.
