The Minister of Industry continues to back an energy policy that is erratic and plagued with doubts about regulation. Now it is known that with a complete lack of demand, the department headed by Miguel Sebastián is planning to open 40 new thermosolar plants, something that could increase expenses by 2 billion euros in tariffs and would add to the current bubble in photovoltaic energy, a power class which relies on 14% of total tariff expenses but only accounts for 3% of total production.
Not to mention that at this time the most efficient production methods are hardly being employed and a rather expensive kind of domestic coal is being used. Has it occurred to anyone to ask why power costs continue to rise again and again?
