It is time that citizens conscientiously weigh the costs of healthcare and education, and it is critical that the initiatives that the PP has on the table are applied rapidly. Spain cannot lose any more time, and it will not be easy to redress poor decisions made by the outgoing socialist government. Still, it would be appropriate for the PP to reiterate their intention to not raise taxes.
There is a formula to placate negative effects associated with higher taxation: it entails balancing a higher VAT tax by lowering social security taxes. This strategy would end up neutralizing net revenues for the government but have the benefit of improving competitiveness of national companies and help drive employment. The PP is working now on a document to accomplish this re-balancing of taxes.
So there could be further revisions, but implementing any strategy must wait until after election day.
