Sacyr and Pemex both want to help Repsol improve its management and to develop the company in line with international standards of corporate governance, but perhaps this desires is misguided. Because the institution in charge of valuing this parameter in Spain, the CNMV, has determined that Repsol is actually one of the companies with the best results in corporate governance rankings.
For example, comparing Repsol to Sacyr reveals that the former beats the latter from one end to the other. While Brufau's petroleum company received 54 of 58 recommendations for good governance, Luis del Rivero's construction company only received 38.
With things like this, it does not look like Sacyr can lecture Repsol on how to run its company. Or at least that this is not the true reason for its moving in on Repsol.
