Op-ed: Another decrease in cost of living looks like populist measure

Yesterday the PP announced that it would bring back home-buying incentives and apply them retroactively. To some extent, Rajoy wouldn´t like to unveil measures that he considers necessary for making the State of Wellbeing idea sustainable and rebuilding the Spanish economy.

One only has to glance quickly at what happened to Cameron in the UK to understand his motive. Cameron fell flat on the ground in opinion polls when he unveiled measures planned for his government.

In Spain, subsidizing real-estate prices will only inflate the cost of living. If we really want to make the cost of living more accessible, it would be better to develop a strong rental market.
