Op-ed: Employment figures skewed by temporary labor

In the month of June the number of unemployed workers has dropped by 67, 858 people, and many of the new jobs are for temporary workers. It is normal that there would be an increase in hiring, considering that tourism has recovered and must employ a certain number of people to operate effectively.

Or perhaps not? If one takes in mind that predictions for this year?s tourist season were significantly higher, then these figures are not that good.

Thanks to an Arabian Spring, this season saw 2.3 million more tourist than last year, when unemployment figures dropped by 83, 834. But in the past month affiliations terminated 5,612 jobs. In other words, less people paying for federal expenditures.

The cucumber crisis has been felt, causing a loss of 4,000 agriculture jobs, but above all it has been noted that there are 27,000 fewer companies in Spain. Therefore, it will be difficult to create permanent jobs.
