In the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office.

Later in the morning, the President will hold a news conference in the East Room. In the afternoon, the President will welcome the WNBA Champion Seattle Storm to the White House to honor the team?s 2010 championship season.

In conjunction with this event, members of the team will participate in a service project with local area youth during their visit. This visit will also continue the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring sports teams for their efforts to give back to communities as well as for winning championships as part of their trip to Washington. As part of the Storm?s visit to Washington, the team will hold a basketball clinic for Washington, D.C.-area kids.

Later in the afternoon, the President and the Vice President will meet with members of the Senate Democratic Leadership in the Oval Office to discuss the status of the negotiations to find common ground on a balanced approach to deficit reduction. Senator Harry Reid, Senator Dick Durbin, Senator Chuck Schumer and Senator Patty Murray are expected to attend.

Later, the President and the Vice President will meet with Secretary of the Treasury Geithner in the Oval Office. In the evening, the President will deliver remarks at an event observing LGBT Pride month in the East Room. Later in the evening, the President and the First Lady will host a farewell dinner for Secretary of Defense Gates at the White House. The Vice President and Dr. Biden will also attend.
