First up is to upgrade in-flight entertainment on planes by installing the most up-to-date personal screens at each passenger´s seat. Airlines Lan Chile and Air France are airlines cover similar routes, and they are already equipped with these devices.

Sources at Iberia confirmed that they just ordered sixteen A330-300 jets and plan to upgrade them when they arrive in 2012. Later, their partner company British Airways (of parent company IAG) will begin to add entertainment devices on their fleet of A340-600 planes. Their A340-300 planes, however, will not be retrofitted because they are scheduled to be removed from service by the end of the next fiscal year.

Long-distance Travel Upgrade

Iberia?s management confirmed that they are also considering the possibility of adding a new class on their long-distance flights. Although nothing is set in stone, what seems clear is that this new class would be between Tourist and Business Plus. "Not in First Class, which is something that didn´t work when the airline had it," management added.
