NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stock losses deepened in late trading on Thursday, pushing the Nasdaq down slightly more than 1 percent, as economic data added to worries about a U.S. recession.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 144.67 points, or 1.16 percent, at 12,282.59. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 16.39 points, or 1.21 percent, at 1,343.64. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 25.56 points, or 1.10 percent, at 2,301.54.
