LONDON (Reuters) - Fund management group Henderson has confirmed it is in discussions over a possible offer for New Star Asset Management.
Henderson said there is no certainty that any deal will be forthcoming, adding it will pay a total 2008 dividend of 6.1 pence per share irrespective of whether an offer is made for New Star.
The company was responding to a Sunday Telegraph report which said Henderson had been granted exclusive negotiating rights to secure a deal.
New Star said last week it remained in talks over a possible sale of the group.
