TOKYO (Reuters) - The Nikkei average fell 1.1 percent on Friday in cautious trade ahead of a decision on interest rates by the Bank of Japan, while Toyota Motor <7203.T> slipped after a newspaper report warned about an annual operating loss.
The benchmark NIKKEI (NIKKEI225.)<.N225> shed 94.95 points to 8,572.28, after moving in and out of positive territory throughout morning trade.
The broader Topix <.TOPX> dipped 0.4 percent to 835.53.
