TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei stock average soared more than 13 percent on Tuesday, with investors taking heart from pledges by authorities worldwide to pour cash into struggling banks.
The benchmark NIKKEI (NIKKEI225.)<.N225> ended the morning up 13.04 percent, erasing losses on Friday when it posted its biggest one-day loss since the 1987 stock market crash.
It rose 1,079.13 to 9,355.56.
The broader Topix <.TOPX> rose 12.7 percent to 947.47, a gain of more than 100 points.
