John Chambers steps down as Cisco's CEO

(Reuters) - Cisco Systems Inc said Chief Executive John Chambers would step down to become executive chairman and 17-year company veteran Chuck Robbins will become CEO, effective July 26.

Chambers, 65, has held the top job at Cisco since 1995 and will continue to be Cisco's chairman, the company said on Monday.

Robbins joined Cisco in 1997 and was senior vice president of worldwide operations, leading the company's global sales and partner team.
