NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks opened higher on Friday after an upbeat outlook from Oracle suggested further gains may be in store for the technology sector.
ORACLE (ORCL.NQ)shares were up 4.5 percent at $33.60.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 32.39 points, or 0.27 percent, at 12,202.95. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> added 3.14 points, or 0.24 percent, at 1,312.80. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> put on 11.33 points, or 0.41 percent, at 2,747.75.
