NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks pared losses and the Dow industrials turned positive on Wednesday, boosted by IBM after positive brokerage comments.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 11.47 points, or 0.09 percent, to 12,225.85. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> shed 1.35 points, or 0.10 percent, to 1,320.47. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> fell 7.58 points, or 0.27 percent, to 2,758.19.
