Wall Street opens lower on Libyan turmoil

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks opened slightly lower on Wednesday, a day after Wall Street suffered its worst session since August on geopolitical turmoil in Libya.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> fell 27.62 points, or 0.23 percent, at 12,185.17, after trading slightly higher briefly after the opening. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 1.31 points, or 0.10 percent, at 1,314.13. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was off 4.29 points, or 0.16 percent, at 2,752.13.
