NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks opened little changed on Tuesday after a mixed report on home prices and ahead of a reading on consumer confidence.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> shed 1.28 points, or 0.01 percent, to 10,810.76. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> dipped 0.29 point, or 0.03 percent, to 1,141.87. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> edged up 2.67 points, or 0.11 percent, to 2,372.44.
