Dow falls briefly below 10,000

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks dropped more than 2 percent on Friday, with the Dow industrials falling briefly below the 10,000 level as a disappointing jobs report and another possible debt crisis, this time in Hungary, intensified fears about the stability of the economic recovery.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> sank 240.85 points, or 2.35 percent, to 10,014.43. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 24.76 points, or 2.25 percent, to 1,078.07. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> tumbled 49.26 points, or 2.14 percent, to 2,253.77.
