Slovak deputy finance minister Hudak to become new economy minister

BRATISLAVA (Reuters) - Slovak Deputy Finance Minister Vazil Hudak will take over the top seat at the Economy Ministry, Prime Minister Robert Fico said on Wednesday.

Fico said he had sent a request for Hudak's appointment to President Andrej Kiska earlier on Wednesday.

Hudak studied at Harvard Business School as well as international relations in Moscow and law in Prague. He worked at Citigroup and JP Morgan before joining the Finance Ministry in 2012.

The Economy Ministry has been led by Finance Minister Peter Kazimir on a temporary basis since the resignation of minister Pavol Pavlis in April.
