Denmark names Ostergaard as economy minister, incumbent goes to EU

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Denmark will appoint Tax Minister Morten Ostergaard as Economy Minister later on Tuesday, replacing Margrethe Vestager who is taking up a post with the European Commission, the government said in a statement.

Ostergaard said on Sunday he would replace Vestager after their Social Liberal Party anointed him its new leader. Vestager's move to the EU Commission was also announced on Sunday.

The Social Liberal Party is the junior coalition partner in a minority government led by Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt and her Social Democrats.
