ROME (Reuters) - Silvio Berlusconi, former prime minister and head of Italy's centre-right opposition, is leading in a vote count for both houses of parliament, projections made on the basis of initial election results predicted on Monday.
A projection by IPSOS gave Berlusconi 46.5 percent of thevote for the lower house to 37.7 percent for centre-left leaderWalter Veltroni. It gave Berlusconi's bloc 47.2 percent ofvotes in the upper house against 38.1 percent for Veltroni.
