PARIS (Reuters) - French police arrested two men on Friday suspected of involvement in an attack by Basque separatist group ETA on Madrid airport in December 2006, a source close to the investigation said.
The two were seized by an elite police team andanti-terrorist specialists at around 8:50 p.m. (7:50 p.m.British time) in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, in the far southwest ofFrance.
The source said police believe the two might be JosebaIturbide and Mikel San Sebastian. One of the pair is suspectedof direct involvement in the airport attack, which killed twopeople, and the other of indirect involvement.
"Investigators are trying to check their identities," thesource said.
The two men were not armed at the time of their arrest andare being held in custody in Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
