Damascus blast killed Hezbollah commander

BEIRUT (Reuters) - A car bomb in Damascus on Tuesday killed a senior military commander in the Lebanese Shi'ite Muslim group Hezbollah, a Lebanese political source told Reuters on Wednesday.

Witnesses had seen the body of man taken from the scene ofthe blast in the Syrian capital on Tuesday evening. Hezbollah-- a political group with a guerrilla army -- is backed by bothSyria and Iran.
