WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Mitt Romney will suspend his campaign for the Republican nomination for U.S. president, a party source told Reuters on Thursday.
Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts, had vowed tofight on after a disappointing showing on Tuesday's primaryraces and caucuses, when Arizona Sen. John McCain took a clearlead in the race for the party's nomination in the Novemberelection to succeed President George W. Bush.
