Danish opposition bloc ahead in election - exit poll

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - An exit poll suggested Denmark's Social Democrat-led opposition would win 89 seats in the 179-seat parliament on Thursday, making it the largest bloc even as it could fall short of an absolute majority.

The survey by YouGov polling agency for online newspaper MetroXpress was released more than five hours before voting was due to end, and showed the centre-right government and its allies trailing with 86 seats.

Voting in Denmark's general election ends at 8 p.m. local time (7 p.m. British time).
