Australia Greens to announce deal with ruling Labor

CANBERRA (Reuters) - Australia's Greens party said on Wednesday it would announce an agreement with the ruling Labour party, amid negotiations to provide support to form a minority government.

Party leader Bob Brown and newly elected Greens lawmaker Adam Bandt would hold a news conference at Parliament House at 9:45 a.m. (12:45 a.m. British time), the party said in a statement.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard's Labour and the conservative opposition are wrangling to secure support from Bandt and four independent lawmakers wielding the balance of power after inconclusive elections on August 21.
