NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks turned negative in skittish trade on Monday as an earlier advance in the shares of energy and big-cap technology companies dissipated.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 23.10 points, or 0.35 percent, at 6,603.84. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 0.57 points, or 0.08 percent, at 682.81. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 5.20 points, or 0.40 percent, at 1,288.65.
