Barcelona, May 1 (EFE).- Dominican rapper Monkey Black was fatally stabbed during a fight in suburban Barcelona, Spanish police said Thursday.
The 27-year-old rapper, whose real name was Leonardo Michael Flores Ozuna, died after being stabbed seven times, apparently by two attackers.
Monkey Black began his musical career in mid-2006 and became known in his country for his number "Tienen miedo."
For the past four years, Flores Ozuna had lived in the Barcelona area.
The rapper, who although he received "rapid" medical attention could not be saved, was attacked by two people after an argument that began in a nearby bar, according to sources close to the investigation.
The suspected murderers inadvertently left some personal objects in the bar, the sources said.
Witnesses to the killing said that the singer died after walking about 20 meters (yards) after being stabbed at the bar entrance.
Since the murder, fans and friends of the musician have been leaving candles and flowers at the site.
Companions of the late rapper reacted quickly to his death, with Dominican singer Vakero writing on Twitter: "I feel so bad ... I don't want to believe that you're no longer with us."
Also, rapper La Materialista said on Twitter that "today the urban movement is in mourning over your departure, Monkey Black."
