Soldiers find 12 bodies in clandestine cemetery in central Mexico

Mexico City, Feb 10 (EFE).- Clandestine graves containing 12 bodies were found over the weekend in Taxco, a city in central Mexico, state prosecutors said.

Army troops acting on a tip received Saturday night discovered the graves, the Guerrero Attorney General's Office said.

Investigators are working to identify the bodies, which were found near Puente Campuzano and Mezcaltepec, two communities located outside Taxco, the AG's office said.

The bodies were exhumed on Sunday and taken to the coroner's office, where DNA samples were obtained from each of the victims.

Investigators plan to continue digging at the site "in an effort to locate other possible remains," the AG's office said.

"Different investigative techniques will be used to determine the causes of death of the victims and clear up what happened," the AG's office said.
