Puebla, Mexico, Feb 7 (EFE).- Investigators are looking at homophobia as a possible motive in the slaying of a young man whose body was found in Puebla, a state in central Mexico, prosecutors said.
The victim, who was wearing women's clothing, sustained extensive skull injuries and appeared to have been tortured, the Puebla state Attorney General's Office said.
The body was found by farmers in the town of Santa Isabel Cholula, the AG's office said.
The man was wearing lingerie and a woman's wig was found nearby, the AG's office said.
Investigators are trying to determine if the man was killed because of his sexual orientation or for another reason.
The young man's skull was crushed by numerous blows, investigators said.
It has not been determined if the victim was sexually assaulted, the AG's office said.
