Large blast heard in diplomatic area of Afghan capital - witnesses

KABUL (Reuters) - A large blast was heard in the heavily barricaded diplomatic area of the Afghan capital, Kabul, on Wednesday, Reuters witnesses said. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Embassy sirens sounded and ambulances could be heard after the blast, which happened at around 8. 20 a.m. Kabul time (0350 GMT). The U.S. and British embassies and the headquarters of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force are all in the same area of Kabul.
