Baghdad car bomb kills at least 8 people - police

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A car bomb exploded in northeastern Baghdad on Thursday, killing at least eight people and wounding 25 more in a busy market area, Iraqi police and hospital sources said.

The blast near a restaurant in the mainly Shi'ite Shula district was the first serious attack on the Iraqi capital since mid-May when a suicide bomber hit a police checkpoint in Baghdad.
