SYDNEY (Reuters) - Qantas Airways Ltd Chief Executive Alan Joyce said there were major issues still to be resolved, including agreeing the merger ratio, if a tie-up with British Airways Ltd (BA) was to go ahead.
Issues also included BA's costly pension fund, Joyce, who took over as Qantas this month, told Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce lunch meeting on Monday. Qantas and BA said last week they were in talks to form a dual-listed airline, the latest move in an industry desperate to slash costs as recession-hit businesses and tourists curb travel.
