With One Customer–One Card, issuers can manage their existing card programs at a considerable cost saving over traditional methods. The protected solution, which Serverside has developed over the course of four years and is applicable to credit, debit and gift card programs, enables a card to be manufactured "˜on demand´ when a customer requests it. This offers a break with the past when cards were pre–printed in bulk in one facility, shipped to a separate facility and then held in a vault until needed.
Printing "˜on demand´ is a highly efficient way of producing payment cards since it takes the guesswork out of having to estimate the number of cards a program will need over time "” a guess that results in huge costs from over–ordering, transportation and inventory management.
The digital press used in the One Customer–One Card solution produces better quality cards than existing digital printers and enables an unlimited number of designs and brands to be intermixed on a sheet of printed card stock. For card issuers, this represents extreme flexibility, for the consumer, infinite choice.
Additionally, the online management interface means card programs and associated marketing activities can be launched, managed and adjusted in real time. For the first time ever, card marketers can drive the operational process, not vice versa.
