Mojo Networks, a pioneer in cloud-managed WiFi, announced today it has joined the Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) as a Community Member to further the drive toward open standards across the wireless industry.
The OCP Foundation is a rapidly growing global community of technology leaders working together to break open the black box of proprietary IT infrastructure to achieve greater choice, customization, and cost savings.
“We fervently believe that the WiFi industry needs to adopt open standards and force out proprietary, antiquated hardware,” said Rick Wilmer, CEO of Mojo Networks. “Customers will benefit from increased innovation, more choices, better products, and lower prices, just as we’ve seen with every other industry that embraces this approach.”
Mojo Networks will be active in the OCP Networking Project to develop an open ecosystem of interoperable WiFi software and hardware, including access points. For more information about the Open Compute Project, please visit http://opencompute.org.
