Around 200 international producers, importers and their partners will be kick–starting the market for intelligent control and energy savings at the first Home Control and Energy Saving Conference opening Copenhagen, Denmark on 1 October. This is the first international conference of its kind focusing on the considerable growth potential for producers and retailers of equipment within the wireless intelligent control space. During the conference the Trust will present My Home, which is an Internet–based platform for Z–Wave–based wireless equipment for intelligent home control. The Trust and the Z–Wave Alliance are co–hosting the conference, which is being opened by Denmark´s Minister for Climate and Energy, Connie Hedegaard, in the run–up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP15 Copenhagen 2009.
Ever increasing energy prices and climate considerations will stimulate consumer demand in the coming years for intelligent, green technology in homes. Against this backdrop, the intelligent home is a completely new way of saving energy and time - both in the smallest private homes and in the largest organisations. Individual consumers will easily be able to reduce their energy consumption by up to 30% with the help of wireless, intelligent control of all power consuming functions in their homes.
Minister Connie Hedegaard to open conference
Denmark´s Minister for Climate and Energy, Connie Hedegaard, will open the conference, which is the first of its kind. Together with producers, politicians and opinion formers, the Minister will fire the opening shot to turn the vision of energy savings with the help of intelligent home control into reality. In addition, major international corporations such as Nokia and Danfoss will present trends and intelligent solutions for energy savings based on the Z–Wave technology.
A friendly nudge for producers and retailers
"˜The Danish Electricity Saving Trust wants to use the conference to give producers and retailers a friendly nudge to encourage them to start thinking seriously about energy saving technologies and solutions. There really is an enormous potential for energy savings by making homes intelligent, and this is the reason why the Trust has developed My Home. My Home is partly a marketplace for companies offering Z–Wave–based products and installer services to homes, and partly an online platform which allows consumers to monitor energy consumption in their homes completely free of charge, from wherever they are in the world. This is an obvious development area for the commercial world, and we have already noted an increasing demand from consumers for wireless equipment,´ says Göran Wilke, Head of Secretariat at the Danish Electricity Saving Trust.
Denmark is a pioneer in the energy savings field
Denmark is a pioneering nation when it comes to reducing electricity consumption in private households. It is therefore natural that Denmark is also playing a leading role in the debate on intelligent control in the run–up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP15 Copenhagen 2009. Climate and Energy Minister Connie Hedegaard will give a speech dealing with the role of energy saving wireless technology from a governmental perspective.
Exhibition of wireless equipment
Conference delegates will also be able to view wireless solutions for the intelligent home at an exhibition. Products and solutions on display will comprise everything from remote monitoring of homes, security, and energy savings for home entertainment and lighting systems. Exhibitors include Danfoss, Horstmann, Innovus, Seluxit, Düwi, Data Response, NorthQ, Everspring and Hawking.
