Expand Networks, www.expand.com, a leading provider of application acceleration solutions over the Wide Area Network (WAN), today announced that the company has deployed its 10,000th unit to the U.S. government. The sale, made to the US Army, reinforces Expand Networks´ position as the leading provider of WAN Optimization appliances to US military and civilian agencies.
This news follows two major recent wins in the tactical military market for Expand Networks. In April, 2008, Expand announced that General Dynamics C4 Systems (GDC4S) and the United States Army awarded them the Warfighter Information Network – Tactical (WIN–T) Increment 2–3 TCP Performance Enhancing Proxy (PEP) contract. In July 2008, Expand announced the deployment of Accelerators on the US Air Force JSTARS BLOS program, improving link stability, increasing throughput and accelerating airborne application performance.
