n.runs AG, specialist for IT consulting and solution development is the only central European company to be selected for the new Microsoft partner program "Security Development Lifecycle Pro Network" by the world´s largest software company Microsoft. The pilot phase will be launched on 10th November 2008 during the Microsoft Tech–Ed EMEA in Barcelona.
As a consequence of Bill Gates declaring "Trustworthy Computing" the company maxim in 2002, and in view of the consistently increasing customer requirements regarding security, the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) was designed by Microsoft as an internal standard for software development, in order to eliminate security relevant defects and to reduce any subsequent damages due to design and programming errors. Since then, more than 20,000 Microsoft developers and programmers have undergone the SDL training.
With the new program, Microsoft has set a goal of making this successful development cycle available to external companies who deal with the development and programming of Microsoft as well as other applications.
For this purpose, Microsoft created the partner program "Security Development Lifecycle Pro Network". Microsoft has put its faith in consultants and trainers from the nine worldwide market leading consulting and training companies in the network security sector. Their task is to support organisations using their substantial experience and expertise concerning SDL methodology and technology, to implement SDL with the help of proven guidelines and establish it as an integral part of the software development process.
After long–standing co–operation with Microsoft in the consulting sector, n.runs AG was chosen for the program due to their high level of expertise in the IT security sector, and it offers both the training and the corresponding consulting for the implementation of SDL required by Microsoft.
