Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (NASDAQ:AMCC), a global leader in optical transport, embedded Power Architecture® processing and storage solutions, announced today that MergeOptics GmbH, a German–based optical communications solutions provider, has chosen the company´s 10–Gigabit Ethernet Physical Layer integrated circuit technology for use in high–speed optical X2 module connectivity solutions for data transfer applications.
The MergeOptics X2 module will be displayed today through Wednesday in AMCC´s booth #602, Hall 9 at ECOC 2008, Europe´s largest Optical Fiber Communications Conference.
MergeOptics has built a leadership position in the fast–growing 10Gbit/s transmission module market, shipping more than 75,000 modules to network equipment manufacturers worldwide.
