SCA Packaging has launched a design competition in which participants from across Europe are asked to create a total packaging concept to sell chocolate in–store.
SCA Packaging has invited the clients Mars, Carrefour & Nestlé to be part of the jury.
"We want designers to think beyond the actual package and create a total packaging concept that delivers a unique (chocolate) experience to the consumer." Wim Wouters, European Design Director.
As a full service packaging provider, SCA Packaging focuses on innovative design that takes into account consumer and industry trends as well as the ecological footprint of each packaging concept.
"Product Innovation is key for us", says Patrick Verhelst, Marketing Director Europe. "Our aspiration is to design the packaging of tomorrow. This is what helps us succeed with our customers worldwide and across different markets."
Participants in the SCA Packaging Design Challenge 2008 get the chance to work with industry professionals, to pitch their work to well–established designers and to win up to €3000 in cash and an internship at the SCA Packaging Innovation Centre in Brussels.
The Design Challenge will run until March 2009. Submissions will be accepted until December 5th 2008.
